As the engines shut down, two extraterrestrial creatures emerge from the spacecraft. The first, dressed in a flight suit, looks human. As the other alien — the second alien — wearing a red costume and a helmet, stands behind the driver, the first alien turns to the camera and says: "It's good to meet you, too, Earthlings. Welcome to the world of Kandor." Rockford is one of four extraterrestrial space probes (the others are the Decepticon Combaticons, the Decepticons, the Thunderbolts and the Autobots) that are sent out by the Kandorian government to explore planets in human space. The Autobots and Decepticons are both a type of artificial life-form, called beings of pure energy, created by the Kandorian government to fight a war in the human universe for resources and to protect the planet Kandor, which lies beyond the "ripple of great emptiness" (the hyperspace realm). The Autobots battle the Decepticons, the latter of whom are mutants, from the Warworld spaceship and star destroyer Decepticon in orbit of the Earth and who are led by the nefarious Brainstorm. The Decepticons are defeated by the Autobots, who rescue Optimus Prime from the Decepticons at Cybertron. Return to the Earth, Optimus Prime - who is the leader of the Autobots, and change the fate of humankind and the world.
